The basics:

i unfortunately do know a thing or two about this subject…so here’s the basics plain and simple.or

• if you do have a boyfriend/girlfriend and you have a friend with benefits, then you are entitled to be called a slut/skank/whore or any other name like that.
• they most likely won’t turn into a relationship
• and there is a big possibility word will get out
• it won’t last very long

the friend:

this can be the hard part. how do you know that the person will say yes? if they don’t won’t you seem like a slut?

1. think of someone who would be willing. you may start by thinking of one of your close friend, someone who is more of a kiss and diss type of person, or someone who you’ve dated before.
2. bring up the idea casually. you may start by saying something about how you love to kiss, or how you wish you could have some fun, make sure though it fits into the conversation.
3. suggestively hint that your looking for someone. possible say well, i can’t think of anyone so maybe i shouldn’t. depending on the person they might suggest that you and them get together.
4. make sure this person is someone you trust won’t tell everyone about this set up.

the pros and cons:

pros:

• you can have some fun without the stress of relationships
• no strings attached
• it’s secret (this will not last)
• it’s temporary
• in rare occasions relationships do form
• excitement

cons:

• people will find out, it’s only a matter of time
• you can lose your relationship as a friend with this person and/or you girlfriend/boyfriend if you have one
• you can be called names

the rules:

• give notice before you want to hook up
• define how far you want to go first (some just want to kiss others want more)
• keep it secret. don’t hint or brag to your friends.
• act normal in public. don’t act shy and blush around them. people can tell!!
• be prepared/safe. you never know what’s going to happen so have protection.
• don’t get caught. pick safe places where you most likely won’t get caught. it may not have all the thrills but may be best if you don’t want it to go public

types of friends w/ b’s

ok there are a couple of types of friends with benefits.

• single-single: this is when both friends are single, of course. it’s the safest one to go with. you can say it just happened or you can say you and your friend are secretly dating.
• single-taken: again the name speaks for itself, one friend is taken one is not. this is not the best, of course the taken friend has a chance the person they’re in a relationship with will find out and then they are subjected to being called bad names. it’s best to end this as soon as possible if you get into a relationship, or for the mean people out there, it can be used as a break-up method.
• taken-taken: this ,in my point of view, is the worst. both people are cheating.

so now you know about friends with benefits, it’s up to you to choose if it’s right for you. the next post in this topic is not yet to be announced.

Grade School friends

now for those of you who have several different high schools to choose from this may be something your worried about….losing your best friend in high school. it’s ok everyone feels like this at least once, and i hate to say it but it’s practically true…

in big schools there’s hundreds of people…you may not even have a class or the same lunch period with you best friend. in small schools usually there’s one lunch period and you’ll have alot of the same classes together. but let me assure you…you’ll find new friends. friends that can relate to you more, friends that are into the same things as you.

my lovely civics teacher told us this a couple of weeks ago….”when you really start your life your best friend now will become an acquaintance. you’ll be so busy living your own life you’ll grow apart from each other and then at your 10 year reunion you’ll see each other for the first time in forever and you’ll reminisce about the good old times and exchange phone numbers, but you’ll never get together.” that pretty much made half my class cry.

just be yourself and dont worry. you’ll find new friends and keep some old ones. and when the time comes, your best friends will come around when there needed…

When your best friend is a guy….

oh my my my….i can write a book on this. i have several best friends. two are amazing guys, and yes one is bi.

now the other one, who really is my best friend, well me and him are like the stereotype best guy friend. you know what i’m talking about…we’ve all seen taylor swift’s you belong with me music video. me and him are kinda like them…i’ve liked him a long time, we’ve kissed, so yah he’s the guy i secretly (or not so secretly) wish he loved me.

now, my mom told me that it’s alot easier to have guy friends than girl friends. well these two or at least the second one has proved this completely wrong. some guys are more into gossip than girls are, they talk about girls more than girls talk about guys, and then the send mixed signals…

now for a little bit about me….

my name is erin and i’m in 9th grade. i’m from a VERY small town, but yet there’s tons of drama. i have alot of stories and experiences too. i give good relationship advice i’m just not very good at taking it. i will warn you now: THERE WILL BE SOME TOPICS THAT ARE MORE FOR OLDER TEENS!! i’ll mention these in the first sentence of each blog like that.

i hav some really great friends…they will most likely be mentioned but names will be changed. my best friend is a guy and i’m dating his cousin (me and my best friend has some history). i have another blog called not just another girl. that has some more personal stories on it from over the summer and the first few months of school and alot of those people will come up again and some of those posts will be here too but less detailed.
